Our Story

At Maple’s Doghouse we don’t just care for your dogs we love them! Pop in for a visit and you will find our extended furry family waiting to welcome your pup to the “family.” Our community of parents and pups is social and ever expanding.

Kim

Falling in love with the twins (Maple & London) opened Kim’s eyes to how wonderful it is to be with your dog and be loved by a dog. After taking them to daycare and seeing how happy they were, we decided to get them their own daycare so we could be with them and their furry friends all the time. You will always find Kim at the Doghouse, as this is her “happy place."

Steve

Known as the “Doghouse Dog Whisperer,” Steve loves to get down and play with the dogs. If there is a new dog that is trying to find their way, he is there to help out, or if a dog just wants to play, he is game for that too. Steve tends to have a tool of some sort in hand on most days, as he is also the token handyman.

Our Dearest Maple (2009-2017)

Dog Extraordinaire, Picture Queen, Daddy's Girl and Dock Diving Champion

Maple fought an 18 month long battle with cancer, well past the expectations of all the doctors and us. That's only one of the reasons that she is so AMAZING!!!

In May 2017, at our check up it was determined the cause of Maple's mobility pain was from swelling caused by the mass near her lungs cutting off blood flow to her leg. Causing her extraordinary pain.

With a great weight and a heavy heart Steve and I decided to spend one last weekend with her and London. That Monday Maple was put to rest.

Our Lovely London (2009-2019)

The other half of the Extraordinary pair that catalyzed the Daycare, Snuggle Bug, Mommas Boy, and Dock Diving Flop.

London was cursed with the same battle as his sister and fought his best but lost his battle with cancer as well, with great sadness we let him rest.

In August 2019, at our check up it was determined the chemotherapy was not effective and the stress on this old boy was harming his quality of life.

With a great weight and a heavy heart Steve and I decided to spend only Quality time with London. On September 28 Our sweet Pups were reunited to swim in the oceans, run on the beaches and through the woods, hopefully finally catch that laser dot, eat ALL the ice cream and scream at each other at the top of their lungs scaring everyone else away for a bit.
